本公司坐落于素有"黔北门户"之称,为于贵州最北部,与四川省仅一河之隔,享有胜名的"中国第一竹乡"，当年中国红军四渡而过的赤水河畔的赤水市。
赤水属中亚热带湿润报风气候区，冬暖春早，夏季炎热多伏旱，全年日照少，初夏晚秋多阴雨，立体气候和地区差异显著的气候特点。年平均气温18℃(最高气温41℃，最低气温-2℃)。年降雨量平均为1268.8毫米，年均相对湿度82%，日照时数1297.7小时；无霜期340—350天，并随海拔高度上升而递减，800米以下地区无霜期300天左右，800米以上地区无霜期210—300天期间，最适合各种竹木等植物生长。
赤水全市竹林面积60多万亩，其中楠竹40万亩，杂竹20万亩，有各类竹24种。年产木材4万立方米，楠竹500万根，杂竹20万吨，竹笋5000万公斤。竹海面积比蜀南竹海的面积还要大，居全国首位。
赤水盛产竹笋、“竹荪”、“竹鸡”、“玉兰片”等等的菜名，入口滑嫩鲜美，竹类常有的涩味却很少，汤也不错，甘醇之中还透着一股青翠之气，饮之心胸为之一爽；再有竹制的用品，大到竹床，梳妆台，小到书签、微雕，应有尽有。一些小手工艺品尤其制作精制，如有用一节节细竹筒串成的竹蛇，再饰以各种花纹，捏住尾部身躯便蜿蜒扭动起来，像真的一样；还有用宽大的竹板做成的竹屐，系以漂亮的丝带，穿上去既美观又清凉。另外还有精美的竹帽、竹扇、竹砚、竹台等等。
